Second Lt. Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani

Second Lt. Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani was a member of the Saudi Arabian military who attacked the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida, on December 6, 2019, killing three people and injuring eight others. Alshamrani was part of a Saudi military delegation invited to take part in a US Naval flight training session. He was motivated by an Islamist extremist ideology and is believed to have been linked to Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. Alshamrani was killed by law enforcement during the attack. After the shooting, AQAP released messages from Alshamrani showing that he had been instructed by AQAP to commit the attack.
