Neo-Confederate

Neo Confederate, in its most serious incarnation, refers to a person or group seeking to create an independent Southern nation, like the original Confederates sought, and, in its lesser incarnation, those who glorify, whitewash and romanticize the Confederacy and the antebellum South. Not all neo-Confederates are white supremacists but many are. For example, the League of the South has evolved over the years from being a neo-Confederate group into an explicitly white supremacist, antisemitic organization. On the other hand, the Sons of Confederate Veterans is a neo-Confederate group that is not explicitly white supremacist although some members are racist or embrace white supremacy ideology.
