Major Nidal Hasan
Major Nidal Hasan went on a shooting spree at Fort Hood, Texas in 2009, killing 13 people and injuring more than 30 others. Hasan was in contact with Anwar al-Awlaki, the influential American-born terrorist idealogue. In his 16 emails to al-Awlaki, Hasan asked if attacking military personnel and "indiscriminately killing civilians" were good ideas.
