Garland, TX Terrorist Plot, also known as the "Draw Mohammed Art Contest" Plot

The Garland, Texas terrorist plot, also known as the "Draw Mohammed Art Contest" plot, refers to a May 3, 2015 incident in which two men — Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi — entered the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas intending to commit a terrorist attack. They were motivated by a cartoon drawing competition hosted by the racist American Freedom Defense Initiative. The two men did not succeed in killing anyone in the attack, and law enforcement was aware of their radicalization and had been following them. Although ISIS claimed credit for the attack, the maps of the exhibit were posted online by Joshua Ryne Goldberg, an internet troll who pleaded guilty to inciting the attack in December 2017.
