Fraternal Order of Alt-Knights (FOAK)

The Fraternal Order of Alt-Knights (FOAK) is a now-defunct sub-group of the Proud Boys that was formed in 2017 to serve as the "tactical defense arm" of the organization. FOAK was led by Kyle Chapman, aka Based Stickman, who has a criminal history that includes felony assault with a deadly weapon. Chapman earned his nickname "Based Stickman" after a rally in Berkeley, California in March 2017 where he was photographed attacking a counter-protester with a large stick. Chapman advocated for a more overtly white supremacist Proud Boys organization and violent opposition to counter-protesters, clashing with the group's national leadership. Chapman left the Proud Boys in 2017 and with his departure, FOAK also ceased.
