Akayed Ullah

Akayed Ullah attempted to detonate an improvised explosive device in the subway station near New York Port Authority Bus Terminal on December 11, 2017. Ullah, a Bangladeshi citizen and lawful permanent resident of the U.S. was inspired by ISIS to carry out the attack. Ullah began to radicalize in 2014 and claimed that he was initially drawn to ISIS's message because of his anger at American policy in the Middle East. He was sentenced to life in prison in April 2021.
