Abu Bakr al Baghdadi

Abu Bakr al Baghdadi was an Iraqi terrorist and leader of ISIS during its period of territorial expansion in Iraq and Syria. He took over in 2010, and on June 29, 2014, he declared the establishment of the ISIS caliphate. Al Baghdadi oversaw the group's campaign of human rights abuses including torturing and murdering civilians, mass executions, the practice of sexual slavery and the genocide of ethnic and religious minorities. He was killed in a US raid in October 2019.
