Abdullah el Faisal

Abdullah el Faisal is an extremist cleric who was convicted in February 2003 in the United Kingdom of inciting hatred against Jews, Hindus, Christians, Americans and others he considers "unbelievers." He first became an Imam in 1991, and preached increasingly extremist messages until his arrest in 2003. El Faisal served nine years in prison and was deported to Jamaica in 2010. He was indicted again in New York in 2017. He has been connected to many radicalized individuals who went on to attempt to commit violent attacks, including Richard Reid and Umar Farouq Abdulmutallib.
