Ye

Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) is a highly influential artist, record producer, fashion designer and former political candidate who has promoted numerous antisemitic and conspiratorial remarks, most notably in late 2022. In a series of interviews and social media posts from October through December 2022, Ye promoted longstanding antisemitic tropes including claims about Jewish power and control, alleged Jewish exploitation of Black artists and athletes and more. He also praised Adolf Hitler and engaged in both Holocaust denial and trivialization. Ye’s comments drew support from known antisemites and were referenced in subsequent online and on-the-ground activities of white supremacists, extremist Black Hebrew Israelite groups and other antisemites. Ye also has a history of making false anti-Black and conspiratorial statements and has a longstanding relationship with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.

In his words:

  • “[The Nazis] didn’t kill 6 million Jews; that’s just, like, factually incorrect.” - Infowars interview in December 2022.
  • “The Holocaust is not what happened. Let’s look at the facts of that. And Hitler has a lot of redeeming qualities.”  - Infowars interview in December 2022.
