Three Percenters
"Three Percenters" are a concept created by a former Alabama militia leader, Mike Vanderboegh, to popularize the militia movement and its anti-government ideology. The term itself refers to the erroneous belief that only three percent of colonists fought against the British during the Revolutionary War. Three Percenters believe that they are engaged in a similar battle against the tyranny of the federal government. Three Percenters may join or form traditional militia groups, but often form non-paramilitary groups or networks online. Many are not associated with any particular group. Also referred to as III%ers, III percenters, Threepers, 3PERS and 3%ers.
