"Screw your optics, I'm going in," is believed to be Robert Bower's final social media post prior to allegedly opening fire on Pittsburgh's Tree of Life Synagogue in 2018. The "optics" debate is a major point of contention among various white supremacist factions. "Screw your optics" continues to be used by extremists who are no longer interested in how their actions are viewed, particularly when it comes to violent action.
