Ruby Ridge

Ruby Ridge was the site of an 11-day armed standoff in 1992 between Randy Weaver and federal agents. Weaver was wanted under a bench warrant after his failure to appear in court on firearms charges. The standoff culminated in the deaths of a U.S. Marshal and Weaver"s wife and son. The incident became a rallying issue for right-wing extremists and is frequently cited by extremists as an example of the government"s willingness to murder those who would oppose it.
