Resistance News Network (RNN)

Resistance News Network (RNN) is a radical antisemitic, anti-Zionist English-language Telegram channel that promotes violence against Israel and anti-normalization with “Zionists.” RNN first appeared on Telegram in October 2022. As of October 2023, RNN has claimed that they have been deplatformed from other social media sites, including Instagram and Twitter (now known as X). As of February 2024, RNN has over 130,000 subscribers on Telegram. RNN content is shared by many of the most radical anti-Israel activists and organizations.

RNN’s posts include the explicit promotion of U.S. State Department-designated foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs), often providing English translations of communiques and propaganda from groups such as Hamas and its Al Qassam Brigades, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Ansar Allah (the Houthis), Palestine Islamic Jihad (PIJ), Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades and Hezbollah. RNN also posts their own graphics of individuals with guns and of rockets being fired at Israel.  

While most of the dissemination of RNN propaganda occurs online, in February 2024, RNN materials appeared offline, posted on a bulletin board at the Auraria Campus in Denver, Colorado. In October 2024, an RNN poster was hung up at the University of Washington by its SJP chapter, SUPER UW. Individuals and groups that have shared and/or promoted RNN content online include: Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapters at Wellesley College, University of Washington, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University of California-Irvine, John Jay College and Brandeis University; The Mapping Project, Samidoun and Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) Metro DC.
