"The Plot Against the Church" by Maurice Pinay

The Plot Against the Church is a book originally published in 1962 by Maurice Pinay that claims to demonstrate how “the Jews” have subverted the traditional Catholic church in part by integrating Jews into Catholic religious vocations and the official church hierarchy. Pinay writes, “The highest aim of the ‘Jewish Fifth Column’ has always been to gain control of the Papacy and to place a secret Jew on the chair of St. Peter.” Pinay’s work endorses antisemitic myths about the Talmud, deicide, Freemasonry and the supposed central role of Jews in the French Revolution. Virulent antisemites including E. Michael Jones and Bishop Richard Williamson have endorsed this book, as have supporters of the Goyim Defense League. These people claim that the reforms of the Second Vatican Council, which absolved Jews of the deicide charge in 1962, prove Pinay’s thesis. Many Traditionalist Catholics, who reject Vatican II as heretical, hold this book in high esteem.
