Parkland shooting
The Parkland shooting refers to a deadly February 14, 2018 shooting spree at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, perpetrated by Nikolas Cruz. 17 people and 17 others were injured during the shooting. Cruz was a white supremacist sympathizer, although there is no evidence the attack itself was motivated by white supremacy. In October 2021, Cruz pleaded guilty to all charges, and he is expected to be sentenced in January 2022. Since the shooting, some right-wing conspiracy theorists have claimed that the event was staged and that the student survivors are "crisis actors" or were coached by others to make statements supporting gun control measures.
