"George Soros" conspiracy theories

George Soros is a Hungarian-American investor, philanthropist and Holocaust survivor known for funding progressive political and social causes, usually through grants from his Open Society Foundations. Soros is the frequent target of conspiracy theories claiming that he masterminds global plots or manipulates events to further his goals. Many of these conspiracy theories employ longstanding antisemitic tropes, particularly the notion that rich and powerful Jews work behind the scenes, plotting to control countries and manipulate global events.
