Comet Ping Pong shooting
The Comet Ping Pong shooting took place on December 4, 2016 in Washington, D.C., when Edgar Welch walked into the restaurant carrying an AR-15 and opened fire; no one was injured. Welch told police that he had come to investigate claims that the pizzeria was harboring child sex slaves in its basement (the restuarant does not have a basement) as part of a global child sex trafficking ring after reading about such theories online.
