Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades (AAMB)

A coalition of Palestinian militant organizations formerly aligned with the Fatah political party, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades (AAMB) formed in 2000 amid the Second Intifada and uses violent tactics to attack Israeli military forces and civilians around Jerusalem and the West Bank, and in the Gaza Strip prior to the 2005 Disengagement.

The coalition claimed responsibility for a number of attacks against Israeli security forces in 2022 amid an Israeli military crackdown on terror activity in the West Bank.

The Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades claimed to have participated in the Hamas-led October 7, 2023 attack across southern Israel.

It is a designated terror organization in the U.S., Canada, and the European Union.
