14th Amendment

The 14th Amendment is something that many sovereign citizens argue created an entirely new class of citizens. Those who joined this new class were subject to the authority of the federal government. Prior to this amendment, Sovereign Citizens claim, only those who lived in D.C. or a federal territory were "citizens of the United States;" most people were citizens of their states. In becoming "citizens of the United States" people surrendered their sovereignty and became de facto slaves. Sovereigns believe people were tricked into this status and have the right to exit it, after which the government has no more authority or jurisdiction over them.
