Sonnenrad

Sonnenrad is the German term for a "sunwheel" image, an ancient European symbol that appears in many forms. The Nazis created one specific version of a sonnenrad, featuring crooked rays (resembling lightning bolts) emanating from an inner circle. This specific sonnenrad image has become a very popular white supremacist symbol. White supremacists will often inset another symbol, such as a swastika image, into the center of this sonnenrad.
