Matt Hale

Matt Hale is a white supremacist of long-standing, best known for reviving the racist and antisemitic Church of the Creator, which had fallen apart after the suicide of its founder, as the new World Church of the Creator (WCOTC) in 1996. Under Hale's leadership, WCOTC became known for its attention-getting activities as well as violent incidents associated with its members. In 2002, WCOTC lost a trademark infringement lawsuit and the federal judge in the case ordered the group to stop using the WCOTC name. In 2003, Hale was arrested for soliciting the judge's murder and in 2004 convicted of one count of solicitation of murder and three counts of obstruction of justice. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison. See also: World Church of the Creator and Creativity Movement.
