John Tanton

John Tanton (1934-2019) was an ophthalmologist in Michigan, but also the architect behind the modern anti-immigrant movement. Tanton founded, or was the head of, a variety of anti-immigrant groups and organizations, some of which have had considerable influence. He was also involved with racist and white supremacist activities, including starting the white supremacist Social Contract Press and founding the Society for Genetics Education, a eugenics group.
