Group Status: Defunct
American Identity Movement (AIM), an alt right white supremacist group formerly known as Identity Evropa, was disbanded in November 2020. AIM’s decline began in November 2019 after the group’s leader, Patrick Casey, began to collaborate with “America First” podcaster Nick Fuentes and his Groyper Army.
The American Identity Movement (AIM) was an alt right white supremacist group that began in 2019 as a rebranding of Identity Evropa, one of the largest groups within the alt right segment of the white supremacist movement.
Identity Evropa, which itself only originated in 2016, quickly developed a significant negative reputation due to its participation in the 2017 Unite the Right white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, among other events. Many members were publicly exposed or “doxed” by antifa activists in the wake of Unite the Right.
In March 2019, Patrick Casey, head of Identity Evropa, announced the disbandment of IE and the formation of AIM, an ostensibly completely different group, though Casey immediately invited all Identity Evropa members to join. For all practical purposes, AIM is essentially Identity Evropa with a new name and logo.
